Presented by the Los Angeles Ballet Academy, The Nutcracker is a cherished winter classic. The original story by E.T.A. Hoffman is accompanied by Pyotr llyich Tchakovsky’s legendary score; today you will see our school’s versions of the beloved tale.
After all the guests have left her family’s annual Christmas Eve party, Clara is the last to go to bed. The evening takes a drastic turn when she is confronted by the Mouse King, and is launched into the middle of a battle! Her gifted Nutcracker doll has now become life-sized and is at her side. Come along with Clara and the Nutcracker as they discover a whole world beyond Clara’s living room, and meet new friends during their journey into the Land of Sweets.
